If you are the owner of a RoadSquadron vehicle, and have the slightest interest in being notified of things to come, please take a minute to join the Yahoo! e-mail group.
If you're already in the group, please take a minute to confirm that your e-mail address isn't pointing off into space (unless that's where you happen to be most of the time).
I can't speak for everybody with Squadron news and updates, but I myself am an extremely fallible person, who gets a lot of e-mail asking for personal notifications about upcoming events. I can't possibly remember everybody without fail, but Yahoo! can.
If you're worried about getting an inbox full of Space Car minutia, fear not. This forum is where all the Space Car minutia will go from now on, the e-mail group is moderated, and it's laughably easy to remove yourself from the list if you end up hating it.
Just... please join the group if you want to be notified about things going on.
Thanks, everybody.

If there is still a need for a moderator for the Yahoo Group, I'd be glad to volunteer.

It's been two weeks and no response in the yahoo list. Is anyone managing this site? Shawn, you out there? What's up?

Right now, I think all we have is this message board. The last post to the Yahoo group was from Katie (Red5), mentioning how the main Road Squadron site is run from a file server at her house. That was last December, and I haven't heard from her since. If this site is still running from her server, then obviously she's doing well enough to keep it supplied with electricity and an internet connection. But my occasional posts to the Yahoo group have all gone unapproved (and thus unposted), my emails unanswered, and Katie herself hasn't posted here since November of 2005, nor even logged in since February of last year.
Fortunately, we do still have this message board, and we can still post photos to the Yahoo group without the approval of a moderator (which strikes me as potentially very dangerous, but there it is). I've considered the possibility of starting another web site or Yahoo group, but I don't think it's come to that just yet.

Okay, there are three new messages on the Yahoo group in the last coupla days, but none of my posts there have shown up since last December (nor indeed in the last coupla days). I thought they were waiting for a moderator who just wasn't checking the board, but now I have no idea what's going on.
EDIT 12-10-2007: Test, test. Is this thing on?

I'm pretty close to breaking down and trying to get ahold of her for permission for our fresh look we were talking about, new forum, new yahoo group, etc. would I have support in doing so or are you guys hoping she'll still come back on her own accord and opting to give her more time? the last time she posted was in 05I love this group and I'm proud to be a member but I'd hate to see prospective members get put off by the lack of activity here... Edit: for that matter I'd be satisfied with seeing this one back on it's feet again...

Go for it, man. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

I really hate to undermind Katie's authority over the group she created, but her red5 email address is out of commission and it's been 3 years (2 and a couple months) since she posted on the forums. she wasn't at C4 and I haven't even heard from shawn since then and he was her 2nd. Thus, I'm going to make a new forum and yahoo group to try and revitalize this group before new interested individuals are detered from joining. I really hope I get some support in this step by getting more activity in the new board and yahoo group. thanks for your time - Steve Edit: New Yahoo group: groups.yahoo.com/group/RoadSquadronCarClub/
