Well, I'm kinda wondering...
Is the group dying? If there's no news to post, there's no news to post is all there really is to it.
This is the first time I've been back in a couple months now. Why the stretch? It's not that I'm disinterested at all. But as my last fighter was destroyed and I haven't come up w/ a new design, there's no reason to check in daily.
And posts tend to come in bursts here. Some downtime for awhile, then a flurry. There was a time where the 10 most recent posts had me in eight of them. Disheartening, but I still knew folk were around. There was simply no interest in posting by anyone else at the time.
New members are being turned off by lack of activity? The member roll continues to grow. There's a number of newbies since I signed up whenever that was.
I really, really hate yahoo and everything about them from the name to the signup process to their advertising campaigns to everything, including the fact that microsoft is trying to buy them
So while I love this group, I don't know that I will sign up w/ yahoo. However, I'd hate to see this board or its members go away as it's been a great resource.
So there are slow times, and active times. That Katie or Shawn haven't been around is a function of life getting in the way most likely. I haven't seen an instance where a moderator was 'required', though having a few regulars be able to dig into the admin settings when needed is kinda critical. And the only one who can do that is Katie -and if she assigned admin privileges to anyone else.
But as for this forum 'dying', I simply don't see it. Transferring this site somewhere else, or losing any of the info here by going into a new site seems extreme.
But I'll always check in randomly here and there. And when I come up w/a design for my new car, I'll post massive stuff for a time, and then nothing until updates are needed, with the occasional comment posted here and there on other folks craft..
I came up w/ a possible color scheme this morning for my car, but it fits no known star craft anywhere or anywhen. And I really love the blue as it is. I could almost do an 2001:ASO EVA Pod the way my front lights work, but we'll see...
But best of luck to everyone her and watch out for them asteroids!
