TIE Mirage is no more. When the fuel pump went out in the parking lot of our bank where we had stopped to ask about an auto loan. Karma didn't have to hit me over the head. But she did anyway. Upon removing the new fuel pump they found a rusted out gas tank. Leaking dangerously close to the hot exhaust pipes. Well that was it. With it going to cost over $1,500. to repair just the body work from when Mother had her run in with a motorcyclist and now these problems we made the decision to make the change. I went in and removed my modifications in switches and the imperial cogs and the multitune horn. For a year we were looking for a small truck, with a Six Cylinder engine and not too old. Low and behold, one of the mechanics at Reiger Motors (which is part of Grimm Motors, so you get Grimm Reiger Motors sounds like: Grim Reaper Mortis) was selling his 2001, Chevrolet S-10 SXS, blue with a third door. NADA lists it at a resale value of $11,000. He sold it to us for $7,200. So we pick it up tomorrow. The kid is putting a trailer hitch on it for us so we can tow Monty's trailer with the float on it for the Illuminated Parade a week from Saturday and the Fairbury Christmas Parade. Were ON!

Bad news about the TIE Mirage, but it sounds like good news about its successor! So... will it be an Imperial Troop Transport before too long?
I think Grim Rigor Mortis could do a great business selling cars to the Goth crowd -- I hear that used hearses are cheap and well cared-for.

Out of death often comes rebirth, my friend. Sorry for the loss, but we expect great things of you with the new vehicle...

We took the plunge and replaced the TIE Mirage with Fury One a 2001 V-6 GMC Sonoma three door. Now we need to trick her out. I've found some flames see through rear window decal but I want to put a profile of Lord Vader on the window before I apply the flames. Either with him with either a raised fist or index finger. So I need either a graphic that can be made into the vinyl decal or the decal itself. I'd like it to be twelve to fourteen inch tall. I also want to add a 501st Logo, I have the bumper sticker but I would like a twelve inch diameter of the Legion Logo. I will also be adding some kill markings, what I need for that are some Rebel vehicle silhouettes, x-wing, y-wing, etc.I also have a pair of MWG Window Logo for the side windows. As far as cool stuff to put inside the cabin, we've already installed a musical horn which Emily is learning to play so we can have the Imperial March and Star Wars theme for the parades we do.
Other decals I'm doing myself: www.501st.com SITH LORD ABOARD (maybe in Aurabesh for my Darth Nihilius) TI-3853 TI-1802 CAUTION ION ENGINE BLAST NO STEP

The Flames arrived today from JC Whitney. I will soon be able to do a new vinyl decals for our vehicles. I need a TIFF file of the Road Squadron logos. Who's got em'? Anyway, here is what the flames look like.

[glow=blue,2,300]With the Jolly Roger Squadron up and running, the official Imperial Pilot Detachment of the 501st Legion, I'm thinking of a little addition to my "ship". What do ya think and does anyone have access to some vinyl striping?[/glow]

I like the stripes. Among my rules of thumb is "use the canvas" -- I'd make the stripes bigger. Maybe extend them horizontally forward from the bottom of the diagonal and back from the top? I don't know if you'd want to use yellow vinyl tape (essentially electrical tape), but it worked for Drago Lordist.
Also, I had missed the St Patrick's Day parade photo. Is that Mace Windu's astromech? Very cool!

(and this is probably untimely as to when the suggestion was made but it puts the info on the table.)
